  • [01] Tsipras in Istanbul, attends Greek-Turkish football friendly with Davutoglu

    Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras began his working visit to Turkey on Tuesday evening by attending a friendly football match in Istanbul between the two country's national teams, along with his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu.

    During his visit, the premier will meet with members of the neighboring country's political leadership for talks on the main topic of his agenda, namely, the refugee crisis. On Wednesday morning, Tsipras will meet with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Patriarchate's seat, and in the afternoon he will fly to Ankara where he will have a meet with Davutoglu at noon. A working lunch and a joint press conference by the two leaders will follow.
