  • [01] "Small PPC" bill proceeding as normal

Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and Government Vice President, Foreign Minister and PASOK leader Evangelos Venizelos discussed on Monday evening the strategic planning issues regarding government's policy, their trips and contacts with EU partners, as well as pending bills such as that concerning the "small PPC", a spinoff of the Public Power Corporation, which government sources said was "proceeding as normal", with the option of minor improvements possible.

Briefing reporters on the "small PPC" issue and in reply to a question on whether there is concern over the ratification of the bill in Parliament, Venizelos said there are multiple guarantees and more will be added.

[02] OTE submits non-binding offer for the acquisition of NOVA pay TV

ANA/MPA--- Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation (OTE) said on Tuesday it had submitted a non-binding offer of 250 million to 300 million euros to acquire Nova, Forthnet's pay TV operations.

"OTE's non-binding offer is within the range of 250-300 million euros on a debt-free, cash-free basis of the Nova pay TV operations. In the event that an agreement is reached, it will be subject to clearance from competent authorities," OTE said.

Barclays is OTE's financial adviser on the deal.

"OTE sees significant growth potential for Greek pay TV services, to the benefit of consumers. OTE believes the intended agreement will be beneficial to all involved parties and is consistent with the group's strategic priorities," OTE said.
