[01] Athens Stock Exchange opening: Rise
AMNA--Equity prices were rising at the opening of trade on Friday on
the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index up
0.53 percent, standing at 539.35 points at 11:00 am, and turnover at
4.535 million euros.
The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up
0.25 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was down 0.42 percent, and the
FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was up 0.05 percent.
Individual sector indices were moving upward, with the biggest gains
in Health, up 1.79 percent; and Personal and Household Products, up
1.16 percent.
The heaviest losses were in Oil and Gas, down 2.05 percent and Banks,
down 1.99 percent.
Of the stocks traded, 25 were up, 10 were down, and 12 were unchanged.
