  • [01] Cuba sanctions law delay welcomed

    BRUSSELS - The European Union welcomed on Wednesday the United States's decision to delay part of its controversial Cuba sanctions law, but said it would continue to fight the plan. In BONN, German Foreign Minister Klaus Kinkel also welcomed the decision, saying it was a "step in the right direction".

    BRUSSELS - The European Commission, responding to the concerns of financial institutions, has amended its proposed legal framework for a single currency by clarifying more precisely the issue of contract continuity.
