SRNA REVIEW OF DAILY NEWS, Aug.20, 1996Srpska Republica News Agency (SRNA) Directory - Previous Article - Next ArticleFrom: Mirjana Petrovic <[email protected]>BANJA LUKA - The vicepresident of the Republika Srpska /RS/ and acting president Biljana Plavsic warned in Banja Luka that the operation "Volcano", conducted by IFOR in the village Margetici near Sokolac, has negative effect on the preparation and holding the coming elections. "During the talks with the general Walker and Admiral Lopez deputy, general Clark we tried to present the whole situation and indicated at the absurdity that one regularly registered storage can challenge such conse quences which lead to question the elections too" - stressed Mrs. Plavsic in the statement for SRNA. BANJA LUKA - The president of RS and acting president Bilja na Plavsic and the Chairman of the EU Monitoring Mission, Irish Ambassador Mac Anphy, agreed in Banja Luka that the September's elections are necessary step for stabilisation and establishing the lasting peace in RS and CroatianMoslem federation. "I told to Mr. Anphy that after elections from our side there will not be any obstacle for establishing institutions at the level of Union, which main sense is economic cooperation and best living for people" - stressed Mrs. Plavsic at the end of one our conversa tion with the Chairman of EU Monitoring Mission. SARAJEVO - The RS government expressed discontentment with the last actions of IFOR, especially with the decision for de stroying of the storage for defensive weapons in Margetici, near Sokolac, "which is not in accordance with the military part of Dayton Agreement". In the letter sent to the Commander of IFOR general Joseph Lopez and the Commander of the ground forces general Michael Walker, the government notes that such "exclu sive and not tolerable stance towards the representatives of the RS Army "is not in accordance neither with the final phase of separation of warred factions, nor with the process of returning of armies in military barracks, demobilising and beginning of the new period of peace". SARAJEVO - The Deputy Minister of the Foreign Affairs of RS Radomir Lukic talked at Pale with the Swiss Ambassador to Saraje vo Ivo Nicoleto about the problems related with the communication between the embassy in Moslem part of Sarajevo and the Government of RS. At the meeting was talked about the issue of regular channel for delivering documents, concerning the RS citizens inhabited in Switzerland and Serbian refugees in that state. BANJA LUKA - The chief of the Office for elections in the Regional Centre of OSCE Ronald Dryeer confirmed in Banja Luka that the counting of ballots after September's elections will be done in all municipalities in RS and MoslemCroatian federation. Mr. Druyeer stated at the press conference that the compete organisations of elections will conduct the local electoral commissions and control will be done by 1,200 international supercontrollers, 270 of them in the Banja Luka region. ZVORNIK - The peoples delegate from Zvornik and the candi date of Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/ for the House of Represen tatives of the common Assembly with the MoslemCroatian federa- tion Jovo Mijatovic sent a message that "RS must be preserved as independent state". "They are imputing us that we are not for peace, because we want national state, but I assert with respon sibility that we are for peace, and we are equally decisive to preserve the state which we have now and not allow its incorpo rating in the AVNOJ's borders" - said Mijatovic. BANJA LUKA - The president of the Main Board of the Serbian Patriotic Party /SPAS/ Slavko Zupljanin sharply criticised the IFOR's action "Volcano" for destroying the ammunition from the storage of VRS in the village Margetici near Sokolac considering it as deliberate act against Serbian property. The representa tives of SPAS, at the press conference, organised on this occa sion, requester from the IFOR Commanders to address the Serbian people by an announcement and explain why they are doing this, which provoked the bitterness of Serbian people. NOVI SAD - The mood of 24,000 of voters in Novi Sad regis tered for voting in RS is directed towards the patriotic Parties, first of all Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/ - stated Sasa Maric, the secretary of the City's Board of the Serbian Radical Party /SRS/ of Novi Sad. "Nobody can deceive the people, neither here nor in RS, as the opponent, satellite parties are trying these days by furious attacks against the leadership of RS and SDS" - warned Miric. SARAJEVO - The OSCE Chairman Flavio Cotti arrived to Saraje vo where, with the international representatives and the repre sentatives of CroatianMoslem federation he will talk about the preparations for September's elections - announced the Swiss Embassy in Sarajevo. HAMBURG - The German media transmitted the statement of the colonel of Serbian army Milenko Indjic that his soldiers will not cooperate with IFOR during the destroying the ammunition from the storage in the village Margetici near Sokolac. Indjic rejected any cooperation "in destroying of something which is used only for defence of Serbian people". PARIS - The journalist of the French news "La Liberasion" Jean Hatzfeld disclosed that in Sarajevo exist the red list with the names of 2,000 Serbs, which Moslem authorities indicted for alleged war crimes. "La Liberasion" has an explanation for this - "the Party of the Democratic Action /SDA/ is not sure that they will win at the September's elections". The conclusion is obvious - the leading Moslem party has interest not to allow the remain ing Serbs in Sarajevo to vote freely. RIJEKA - The president of the former Republic of Western Bosnia and the leader of Democratic peoples community Fikret Abdic accused Alija Izetbegovic and SDA for "military dictate and campaign of intimidation of his followers in Bihac.
