The Advisory Assembly (AA) is made up of academics, prominent professionals and policy experts. It acts as the organization's policy think tank and safeguards the principles upon which HRI was founded.

The members of the Advisory Assembly :

• assure pluralism and promote multi-partisanship principles within HRI
• identify the current policy trends and issues
• identify specific needs of public policy makers
• communicate its assertion to the Groups and the Board, and
• help organize the annual HRI Conference, whose purpose is to bring together the different bodies of HRI to discuss the challenges that the organization faces.
