"The foreign ministers of Iran, Syria and Turkey expressed their concern regarding the existing situation in northern Iraq, which could be exploited by terrorist groups and external forces and threaten the sovereignty, territorial integrity and unity of Iraq; they stressed that such exploitation should not be allowed" said a joint declaration released by the three countries after the meeting. The second Dublin Summit, aiming to establish peace among the Kurdish parties in northern Iraq and to determine the future of the region, will start tomorrow. Turkey will take part in the summit as an observer and is backed this time by Iran and Syria, two countries carrying weight in the region.
