This position will involve conducting research in Grid Benchmarking and Performance Analysis. The Laboratory operates a local Grid node equipped with state-of-the-art clusters, connected with pan-European Grid Testbeds through a high-speed network. Additional access exists to symmetric multiprocessor systems and networks of workstations. We seek individuals with a strong research commitment, advanced exposure to programming systems, Unix and Linux, an interest to pursue post-graduate or post-doctoral studies in the University of Cyprus, and expertise/exposure in areas such Grid Computing, High-Performance Computing, Benchmarking and/or Performance Evaluation of Parallel and Distributed Systems. Available positions include: � Senior Research Associate (a Ph.D. degree is required) � Research Associates (a M.Sc. degree is required) The appointment will be made within the salary ranges of 11,000-16,000 CYP p.a. (1 CYP is approx. 1,71 euros). Applicants need not be citizens of the Republic of Cyprus. Knowledge of the Greek language, although considered a practical advantage, is by no means a requirement.
