The DB-NET group (http://www.db-net.aueb.gr/) located at the Department of Informatics (http://www.cs.aueb.gr) of Athens Univesity of Economics & Bussiness (http://www.aueb.gr) offers 5 PhD positions (financially supported) in the following topics:

- Data Mining - Uncertainty handling

- Pattern Based database management systems

- Global computing - moving databases

- Interactive multimedia systems - integrity and quality of service issues

The PhD work will mostly take place in EU funder FET projects (basic research), in which DB-NET group participates.

We expect from the candidates:

- high motivation and facing technical challenges

- technical skills in programming and algorithms

- ability for group work
