SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT FOR SUMMER (MEDICAL) SCHOLARSHIPS AT THE MEDICAL SCHOOL OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CRETE

The Medical School of the University of Crete, in cooperation with the Pancretan Association of America will offer three (3) full scholarships for qualified Greek-American medical students for the Summer of 1998, (July to September) for medical/clinical studies at the University Hospital at Heraklion, Crete.

Applicants must have completed at least one year of a U.S. medical school at the time of application. The scholarship recipients will be trained in Surgery at the Dept. of Surgical Oncology and the Pediatrics Unit of the University Hospital in Heraklion Crete, with complete access to patient words, out-patient clinics, emergency room and operating rooms. Students will also have access to the Medical School's and University Hospital's libraries and Internet facilities. An official certificate of completion will be issued by the University upon completion of the studies.

Room and Board will be provided free of charge by the University at the University Hospital's doctors quarters.

Students will have an opportunity to interact with Greek medical students and hospital staff, participate in social and cultural activities, and ample opportunities to meet and interact with the local population.
