URGENT REQUEST FOR DECLARATION OF INTEREST TO JOIN GREEK UNIVERSITIES AND RESEARCH CENTERS

A major new Greek Secretariat of Research and Technology (GSRT) initiative aims to attract to Greek Educational Institutions and Research Institutes Greek-speaking scientists who currently live abroad, have earned a Ph.D. and (preferably) have had two or more years of research and/or teaching activity following the completion of their Ph.D.'s. The perspective candidates will be invited to join the Greek Institutions for a 3-4 year period, with a satisfactory base salary paid by the GSRT, supplemented by whatever research grants and projects these scientists can attract or even bring along, plus whatever the University or Research Center can grant them.

The Electronics/Computer Group of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki seeks candidates who received their Ph.D's and have continued research in the areas of

- Image Processing, Coding and Communication
- Databases, especially multimedia databases

Also the newly created Institute of Telematics and Informatics seeks researchers in the above areas to be paid initially by the above programme and eventually to hold regular salaried (permanent) research positions at the Institute.

THE DEADLINE IS THE BEGINNING OF NOVEMBER. TIME IS SHORT AND A FAST RESPONSE IS ESSENTIAL.
