LECTURER IN HELLENIC STUDIES

Visiting Assistant Professor or Lecturer in Hellenic Studies. One-year, full-time position as leave replacement for 1997-98, with possibility of continuation depending on funding. Teaching duties will be in Modern Greek language and literature at elementary to advanced undergraduate levels. Level of appointment and salary will depend on qualifications; we seek applications from persons professionally trained in Modern Greek language and culture. Prospective candidates should include short descriptions of two undergraduate seminars in Modern Greek literature which they would like to teach and describe their approach to language pedagogy. Position is very probably, but contigent on finalization of leave plans. Applications should be sent by April 15th, 1997, to professor Roger S. Bagnall, Chair, Department of Classics, Columbia University, 606 Hamilton Hall, New York, NY 10027.
