EGAN, University of Manitoba "Out of Thrace: the Multi-Media Orpheus" National Library of Canada (395 Wellington Street) * 2000-2001 Lecture Series, RSVP (613) 727-0644 OTHER CULTURAL EVENTS Image and Icon: The New Greek Photography This major contemporary Greek photography exhibition will be presented, in an abbreviated version, in October and November of this year at the Karsh-Masson Gallery in Ottawa City Hall. A complete version will be exhibited at Marche Bonsecours in Montreal in March and April of 2001. EU Film Festival A Greek film will be shown on December 1, 2000, at the National Archives of Canada Auditorium, as part of the annual European Union Film Festival in the national capital region, that has been extended to Vancouver during the last two years. (The festival begins on November 18 and ends on December 2.) Six from Greece A retrospective of six Greek films is being planned for the spring of 2001 in collaboration with the Canadian Film Institute. Project Hellas Canadian and international artists join forces to present "a musical Odyssey based on the history of Greece" on March 12, 2001 at the National Arts Centre's Southam Hall (NAC Box Office; e-mail: [email protected] ; tel. 613-727-0644). This fund-raising gala for The University of Ottawa's Heart Institute, The Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, and The Multiple Sclerosis Society is sponsored by The Parnassos Hellenic Cultural Society, The Canadian Institute for Mediterranean Studies, and the Embassy of Greece.
