DEFENDING DEMOCRACY, THE CONTRIBUTION OF GREECE DURING THE SECOND WORLD WAR, by Sophocles G. Dimitrakopoulos This book focuses on the critical events from 1944 to 1949 ... Directly involved in these events, the author relates those urgent hours with exemplary frankness and honesty. It not only covers the recent history of Greece but also gives answers to most serious questions on how this nation dealt with issues and how it was traumatized again and again, almost without rescue ... to the present. 218 pages, 5.5x8.5 inches, Paper, $ 15.00

DENYING HUMAN RIGHTS & ETHNIC IDENTITY: THE GREEKS OF TURKEY, by Helsinki Watch The Greek community in Turkey is dwindling, elderly and frightened. Its population has declined from about 110,000 at the time of the signing of the Lausanne Treaty in 1923 to about 2,500 today. Its fearfulness stems from an appalling history of pogroms and expulsions suffered at the hands of the Turkish government. A Helsinki Watch visited Turkey in October 1991 and found that the government of Turkey continues to violate the human rights of the Greek minority today. These acts include harassment by police; restrictions on free expression; discrimination in education involving teachers, books and curriculum; restrictions on religious freedom; limitations on the right to control charitable institutions; and the denial of ethnic identity. 55 pages, 6.0x9.9 inches, Paper, $ 9.00

GOING AFTER FETA, by L. Davey This book is a celebration of the exhilarating disorientation that comes from leaving surroundings and routines that have become too confortable, too familiar. An unusual and exuberant narrative of an extraordinary "family outing", a spontaneous journey across Europe to an Aegean island. This account of a year long adventure has the perception and humor of a modern "Innocents Abroad". by L. Davey, 336 pages, 5.4x8.5 inches, Paper, $ 11.95

SAINT PAUL'S JOURNEYS TO GREECE AND CYPRUS, by A.J. Delicostopoulos This book takes the reader step by step along the path of St. Paul's visits to Greece and Cyprus. With the aid of text, maps, photographs, and the latest archaeological, cultural and general tourist information the author guides you through the ancient biblical sites of Greece. 126 pgs, 4.3x7.5, Paper, $ 8.00
