    [01] THE FIRST PART OF THE GREEK FORCE WILL ARRIVE IN ALBANIA ON WEDNESDAY

    The first part of the Greek batallion that wil participate inthe multinational peacekeeping force to Albania will arrive in the neighboring country on Wednesday and later they will be followed by the rest of the Greek force that will be deployed in Tirana and Vlore.

    The Greek battalion that will participate in the multi-national force to be deployed in Albania will number 900 men and will be sent to the cities of Tirana and Vlore.

    The terms for the participation of the Greek force in the international operation in Albania will be discussed next week in the meeting of the governmental Council of Foreign Affairs and Defence, stated Defence Minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos.

    Referring to the composition of the force, Mr. Tsochatzopoulos said that it will be made up of volunteer soldiers serving a 5-year term in the army, while army reserves will be used only if it will be deemed necessary.

    Greec's Minister of National Economy and Finance Yiannos Papantoniou is currently on a ten-day visit o the United States, where he will meet with State Department officials.

    Mr. Papantoniou, who departed for the US on Friday on the invitation of the Harvard Business Club, will also meet an array of leading American businessmen who are interested in investment opportunities with Geece.

    [04] THEODORAKIS PRESENTED "ZORBA" IN THE THEATER OF SKOPJE WITH SUCCESS

    Skopje, April 13 (MPA)

    World renowned Greek music composer Mikis Theodorakis created a bridge of friendship between Greece and FYROM last night when he presented "Zorba" in the National Theater of Skopje.

    Mr. Theodorakis characterized this initiative as a political event and expressed optimism that the two countries are close to an agreement on the issue of the name pending between the two countries. Greek parliament deputies, prefects, mayors and trade unionists travelled to Skopje to attend the concert.

    [05] ITALIAN PREMIER IN ALBANIA TODAY TO MEET WITH BASHKIM FINO

    Italy's Prime Minister Romano Prodi is currently in the Albanian capital Tirana where he and Albania's Prime Minister Bashkim Fino are to visit Albanian President Sali Berisha.

    Meanwhile, the first French troops who are participating in the multinational peacekeping force to Albania arrived in the country's port Durres this morning.

    The Albanian people will be called to decide on the system of government they prefer for their country in the upcoming parliamentary elections. The decision was made by President Berisha and 10 Albanian political parties.

    [06] THE SON OF THE EX-KING OF ALBANIA VISITS TIRANA

    Albania's ex-King Zogu's son, Lekka, who was self-proclaimed as the heir to the Albanian throne, is in Tirana sinceyesterday for the first time after almost 50 years.

    Zogu left Albania in 1939 when fascist Italy occupied the country, while the institution of monarchy was abolished by the communists after World War II. Ex-King Zogu and his family live in South Africa.

    Political analysts comment that Lekka wants to play a political role in the current developments in Albania.

    [07] TURKEY CHALLENGES AEGEAN'S BORDERS ACCORDING TO ANKARA'S DOCUMENTS

    Ankara, April 13 (MPA)

    Turkey insists on not recognizing the Greek bordes in the Aegean Sea, according to a document forwarded by the Turkish delegation in NATO to the Alliance'sSecretary-General Xavier Solana.

    According to the Turkish documents, "there are no sea border with Greece". This document is what prompted Greek Foreign Minister Theodoros Pangalos to set the three conditions to Turkey.
