Education Minister Gerasimos Arsenis stated that the ministry circular will be implemented at all costs adding that the teachers disrupt the democratic procedures and want to replace the government in exercising the education policy.

[03] 4 PEOPLE DROWNED WHEN AN ITALIAN AND AN ALBANIAN SHIP COLLIDED IN THE ADRIATIC

Four Albanian refugees were drowned while 34 survivors were picked up and 20 people are still missing. According to the survivors, the boat was carrying 120 people.

The UN Security Council has approved the deployment of a multi-national military force in Albania. The main task of the force, which will be under Italian command and will stay in Albania for three months, will be to contribute to the restoration of order in the country.

Mr.Fino has welcomed the UN Security Council decision to approve the deployment of a multi-national military force in Albania.

In a press conference, mr.Fino added that the request for a military intervention had been expressed by the political parties in Albania, was co- signed by the President and the Prime Minister and later was presented to Parliament for a formal approval.

[05] TSOCHATZOPOULOS: GREECE AND ROMANIA CAN AND SHOULD CONTRIBUTE TO STABILITY IN EUROPE AND THE BALKANS

Mr.Tsochatzopoulos signed two agreements on armaments, military technology and the protection of military information among the two countries and expressed Greece's support to Romania's efforts for accession into NATO and the European Union.

To the question on Greece's relations with Turkey, mr.Tsochatzopoulos stressed that Greece does not claim anything that belongs to Turkey adding that Greece does not negotiate its sovereign rights which were instituted through international treaties and accords and are based on international law. He also said that if Turkey has a problem with Greece it can appeal to the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

Mr.Tsochatzopoulos stressed that all the countries in Eastern Europe need the support of the EU at a political and military level and if this is not realized by the Western European countries there could be more Albanian- style situations by the year 2000.

Romanian Minister of Defence mr.Babyuk referred to the prospects that are being opened with the signing of agreements between the Romanian and the Greek armed forces and stated that the Greek delegation showed interest in the privatization of the Romanian war industry.

He said that Romania did not receive the economic aid Poland and Hungary have received, while he pointed out that his country will be financed by the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

[06] GAZINTEPE'S EFFORTS TO IMPLICATE GREECE IN THE RECENT INCIDENTS IN ALBANIA REMIND OF HOTZA ERA PRACTICES

Categorically rejecting the allegations made by Gazintepe, the President of the Socialist Party said that he is sorry that the mentality on issues of espionage is so deeply rooted in the mind of Berisha and also in the minds of those who serve him. He said that the conspiracy against Albania can be traced in the minds of those who refer to this term. Mr.Nano said that this is a revolt of a whole nation against a system that failed for 50 years and continues to create dramatic situations both in Albania and in the wider region.

Mr.Nano, referring to the request for the removal of Berisha from the country's political scene, said that in case today's situation continues as a result of the irresponsibility of Berisha's men, the Socialist Party will state more strongly the request for his removal.

Commenting on the statements made by Gazintepe, Democratic Party President Tritan Sehou said that what happened in Albania constitutes a coup and pointed out that those incidents have nothing to do with the Greek government, the Greek Parliament and the Greek President. He said that on the contrary, the Greek state played an important role in the preservation of stability in Albania and in the wider region as well during this difficult time.

Mr.Sehou said that he is ready to cooperate closely with the Greek government and the Greek state to overcome this crisis, adding that the Greek minority in Albania has no relation with the latest incidents and that in the future will be a bridge of friendship between Albania and Greece.

[07] EUROPEAN UNION SETS CLOCKS ONE HOUR AHEAD TOMORROW

Specifically, the clocks will be set one hour ahead on Sunday, March 30, at 3 a.m. The time change will be into effect until October 26.
