    Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis launched accusations against socialist party PASOK. Referring on PASOK dilemma "Socialism or barbarity", the Premier asked from Mr. Papandreou to recall his phrase because as he said that this phrase is insulting million of citizens.

    On reference to the international financial crisis Karamanlis pointed out that the government will take any necessary measure to support the economy and the market sectors mostly affected by the crisis and accused PASOK of lacking proposals.

    "PASOK leadership evades the crucial arguments and attempts a dive to the irresponsible and misleading political issues", the Prime Minister said asking at the same time from Mr. Papandreou to suggest proposals for the tackling of the international financial conjunction.

    He repeated that while the government focuses on the financial problems, PASOK invests on scandals and gives nice promises. As Mr. Karamanlis concluded, the materialization of Mr. Papandreou's announcements will cost 11 billion euros.

    Leaders Challenged to TV Debate

    The five leaders of parliamentary parties have been challenged to a televised public debate that will broadcast on Thursday, 28 May by state television ERT. The procedure is expected to be final during the following 24 hours. The government focuses on the citizens update regarding the results of its strategies while European issues will be of second importance. "We dare the comparison in any field", governmental members claim. In this framework, the Prime Minister is making frequent public appearances. All 22 ND candidates will deliver speeches around the country
