    Papariga Speech in Syntagma

    15 May 2008 20:33:00

GCP general secretary, Aleka Papariga delivered a political speech at a rally in Syntagma square on Thursday evening. Among others she characteristically said "The worst are still to come to Europe, Greece and the broader region. Imperialism is getting more and more dangerous and reactionary. Climate change and nutrition problems are the results of imperialist policy and capitalist development. Sooner or later the workers class, the majority of the countrys labor force will face the dilemma: Submission or Confrontation, Incorporation or Reversal".

Continuing her speech she said: "Nowadays the pro-employer, pro-government, pro-european-union majorities in the central organs of the labor and agricultural movement, the movement of the self-employed prevent the development of a strong and effective struggle and lead to disappointment, useless sacrifices, disorganization and guidance. The GCP calls all workers "to react against all those who in the name of European unification, competition, and renewal are leading them to bargain on what they will lose, to claim tips and poverty allowances under the pompous title of least guaranteed income".

First evidence indicate that it is a felonious homicide, whose motive is most likely differences between foreign mafia gangs, involving Albanian nationals. Two armed men stormed a coffee shop and killed two Albanians and one Rumanian, sitting at another table. The Rumanian was probably killed by mistake. They disappeared in a car.
