However, the pre-election period in FYROM threatens to delay the negotiations, but Nimetz said that the neighbouring countrys leadership "is taking into consideration all facts." Nimetz also stressed that there were no fixed timelines and implied that Skopje took into account the new developments shaped in Bucharest. Dora Bakoyannis, on the other hand, underlined: "This [visit] merely affirms the resumption of negotiations, something that the Greek side wanted." Socialist leader George Papandreou spoke of a "red line," meaning a name for FYROM for all uses. Today, Greek Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis is meeting with the Defence Minister and later on with the Foreign Minister. It is noted that France said it would not attend the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, due to the violation of human rights in Tibet, which is witnessing an independence movement. The demonstrators, who waved banners in several languages reading "Tibet Belongs to China," targeted Frances embassy and the French school in Beijing, as well as branches of the French supermarket chain Carrefour in the city of Wuhan, where protesters called for a boycott to French goods. Although political demonstrations are forbidden in China, when they mean to offer their backing to Government positions, authorities turn a blind eye. China, on the other hand, has embarked on a campaign to reverse the negative climate. Paper China Daily, citing government sources, read that Tibets tourist area is to be opened to tourists as of 1 May, following the recent blockade due to the pro-Tibetan demonstrations.
