Attacked by a Sausage19 Apr 2005 11:18:00By Despina Hristopoulou It all happened on a nice Spring day in Essex. A 46-year-old man was driving his way home and decided to open his car window to get some fresh air. However, instead of air, what he got was a sharp pain on his nose. He had just fallen victim of a frozen sausage. Despite his confusion, he managed to stop his car and pull on the side, while several passers-by gathered around to help the injured man. Shortly after, the ambulance arrived on the site. The ambulance driver was astounded realizing what had happened. "I feel very sorry for him; it must have been an incredibly lucky or unlucky shot to get the sausage through a moving car window. I have never seen or heard of anything like this before." After the unfortunate driver came to his senses, he said that he saw a car coming the other way and felt a searing pain in his nose. The peculiar incident did not end in a bloodless way, since the 46-year-man suffered a nose fracture and lost a lot of blood. Dead End Later tonight, as it was made known, President, Carlo Azeglio Ciambi accepted the resignations of the Christian Democrat Ministers of the government and the resignations of the Ministers of the New Italian Socialist Party, Bobo Craxi and Gianni De Michelis. The political thriller started on Friday after the withdrawal of four Christian Democrat Party (UDC) Ministers from the government. In a meeting he had earlier on Monday with the rebels and according to what was announced by the Christian Democrats, Berlusconi ended in an agreement to change the government formation and to submit his resignation to President Carlo Azeglio Ciambi. The fact was confirmed by Vice President of the government, Gianfranco Fini. The Italian PM obviously did not keep his promises and the political thriller continues.
