However, there is still hope for employees of the Yvonne chain of cosmetic retailers which might be taken over by another firm. On its part the government has disingaged recent bankrupcies from the general course of the economy. Speaking to the Pasok party Executive Office, Prime-minister Simitis said that apart from the closing down of companies there is the other version the creation of new jobs with the setting up of new companies. Finance Minister, Nikos Hristodoulakis blamed the management of the companies which closed down, for not taking prompt advantage of the development incentives and the community funds. The President of the General Confederation of Greek Labor, Hristos Polyzogopoulos has dennounced that the recent wave of bankrupcy files follows an employers plan aimed to abolish labor rights.
