  • [01] Gov't circles comment on leaks regarding ECB quantitative easing programme

Government circles commented on Friday on the leaks of a European official that Greece will not participate in the ECB's quantitative easing programme.

"Such leakages by European officials - although it is not their intention - help us much. Because they are taking us out of the dilemma whether we will accept or reject the proposed solutions at the Eurogroup, which is a non-institutional body, and leave the matter for the summit."

[02] Refugees, migrants evacuated from old Athens airport site

Greek police are evacuating on Friday hundreds of migrants and refugees from a makeshift shelter set up inside the abandoned buildings of Athens' former Helliniko airport.

According to sources, the procedure is evolving smoothly.

Police said about 60 refugees will be transferred to Thebes, 50 to Inofyta and 50 to Derveni.

In statements to the Athens Macedonian News Agency, the head of the United Movement against Racism and Fascist Threat KEERFA said that around 25 families living in the former aiport opposed last night to their transfer to Thebes.
