[01] Greek Parliament 'green light' for Paris Climate Change Agreement
on Friday, Saturday
Greece's parliament will literally turn green to celebrate the entry into
force of the UN Paris Agreement on climate change. The entire building
is to be floodlit green on Friday and Saturday night, symbolising the
'green light' for faster action to stop global warming.
The Greek Parliament has adopted the proposal of the UN Climate Change
Conference and floodlit the building that houses the Greek lawmakers,
which in addition to its distinctive architecture is also notable for
its bioclimatic features, according to a parliament press release.
The Greek Parliament ratified the Paris Climate Change Agreement on
October 5. It is the first global and legally binding agreement on climate
achieved at the Paris Climate Change Conference on December 12, 2015.
