[01] Government sources welcome ND's return to talks on new NCRTV boardThe government welcomes New Democracy's delayed decision to return to talks over the formation of the new board of Greece's TV regulator, government sources said on Tuesday."It is positive that ND is entering talks for the formation of the Greek National Council for Radio and Television (NCRTV). Even if it's a day late, as the issue could have concluded yesterday," a government source told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency, commenting on a new candidate proposed by the main opposition for the position of the president of the independent watchdog. Concerning the actual candidate, the same source referred it to the Conference of Parliament Presidents which is expected to convene again in the coming days. Viketos) Attempts by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to dispute the Lausanne Treaty were "outrageous," Belgian MEP Guy Verhofstadt said on Tuesday at an Economist conference in Nicosia.According to the head of the Group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats in Europe (ALDE) Group, "it was dangerous and provocative to dispute a treaty adopted 100 years ago." Verhofstadt expressed support for the efforts of Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades to find a solution for the Cyprus problem. He noted that the negotiations were taking place at a time when Erdogan was laying claim to one Greek island after another and starting to dispute the Lausanne Treaty, with which Turkey had relinquished all claims on Cyprus.
