[01] Enterprise Greece announces 5.5-mln-euro program to promote Greek wineEnterprise Greece and the National Inter-professional Organization of Wine and Vine (EDOAO) have earmarked the sum of 5.5 million euros on joint actions to boost extroversion in 2017.Enterprise Greece and EDOAO co-organized a news conference to present a report on Quality Wine Promotion program to third countries in the period 2015-2016 and to present the program for the next period. Christos Staikos, president of Enterprise Greece, in his speech referred to the close cooperation and action development between the two agencies and noted that the wine sector was dynamic with a strategic plan to promote its products, which placed it at the priorities of Enterprise Greece. He added that the organization implemented an 1.3-million-euro promotion program this year focusing on five market-targets: US and Canada, Switzerland, China, Korea and Japan. The program included information/education events to present wines to professionals and journalists in Japan and Korea, inviting foreign journalists to visit Greece, advertising campaigns and the organizing of wine bar presentations with selected Greek wines in the international fairs of Vinexpo in Hong Kong, Interwine in Canton, Seoul Wines and Spirits Expo and the Summer FancyFood in New York. The results of these actions were positive as it led to an increase in interest for Greek wines. Yiannis Voyatzis, president of EDOAO, presented in detail the organization's actions in the framework of a promotion program in third countries and noted that EDOAO's strategic plan combined with a good cooperation with Enterprise Greece and other state agencies significantly upgraded Greek wine's position in foreign markets and in particularly the US market, where Greek wines are gaining share in restaurant wine lists. A similar trend is recorded in Canada as well, Voyatzis said. [02] The bottlenose dophins of Amvrakikos wetlandThe observation of the dolphins in a landscape of extreme natural beauty in the wetland of Amvrakikos is a unique experience for visitors.The bottlenose dolphins of Amvrakikos is a protected population under immediate threat. The observation does not seem to distress the dolphins, environmentalist Venetia Gigi said. "We observe them while they are eating and when they finish with their food they come close to our boat to play, do tricks and flippings with their babies." Every day, a small cruise is organised in the impressive life of Amvrakikos Gulf wetland, a small trip in the world of the dolphins. The bottlenose dolphin population of Amvrakikos is permanent and is one of the largest in the Mediterrenean. The wetland, protected by the Ramsar Treaty, was declared a National Park in 2008. [03] Deadline for binding bids in ADMIE stake sale extended until Oct. 19Power utility PPC said the deadline for the submission for binding bids for the purchase of a 24 percent stake in the Greek grid operator ADMIE is extended for a week, to "allow more time for potential investors to make their bids".The deadline, which would expire on Wednesday, has now been reset for October 19, the company said. Three companies have been shortlisted after the first round: Italy's Terna, China's State Grid International Development, and France's RTE.
