  • [01] Tsipras: SYRIZA is the only party than can guarantee the stability

ANA/MPA---The people's majority will offer us the opportunity to govern for the next four years by giving a clear mandate to SYRIZA, said party leader Alexis Tsipras in an interview to Sunday newspaper Real News. "The Greek people understand that SYRIZA is the only party that wants and can do the necessary for the country reforms and changes and in parallel can guarantee the stability".

SYRIZA leader underlined that he will form the new government from point zero, a government that will be concrete in the battle for the necessary reforms that the state needs.

"In this context very important is to have and we will have the society's support as well as Independent Greeks (ANEL) as a stable ally".

He also expressed his determination to continue and intensify the battle against corruption after the elections.

He ruled out the possibility of a cooperation with New Democracy and accused Popular Unity leader Panagiotis Lafazanis that he decided to declare civil war clarifying that it will be a one-side war.

[02] ND leader Meimarakis: National consensus necessary

ANA/MPA---The need for national consensus at this crucial period for Greece underlined New Democracy (ND) leader Evangelos Meimarakis in his interview to Sunday newspaper Proto Thema and expressed his certainty that ND will be first in the general elections.

"Our ambition is to be the first party. We claim the first place again and I believe that the first place belongs to ND" said Meimarakis who did not rule out the possibility of a post-election cooperation with SYRIZA noting that it takes two for tango.

In this context he underlined that "at the moment we come first there can be a broader cooperation of the political forces of the European front for a four-year government based on a national plan for economic and social restoration.

Moreover, Meimarakis charged SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras that "he leads the country to disaster" and reiterated that the elections may cost to the country and not to ND.

[03] Potami should play a decisive role in the new government, says party leader Theodorakis

Potami leader Stavros Theodorakis called on the citizens to clip a bit the wings of the old parties and to give the power to Potami to play a decisive role to the composition of the new government" in an interview to Sunday newspaper Real News.

Theodorakis also sternly attacked SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras and New Democracy (ND) leader Evangelos Meimarakis. "They are both children of the party mechanisms" he noted adding that "the cooperations are imposed by the people".

He estimated that the first place in the elections have not been judged yet and said that it is funny to speak of parliamentary majority.

Regarding the next day of the elections, he said the he does not rule out a co-governance of a broader alliance noting that "Greece must be governed by people that have worked".
