    � wildfire that broke out on Friday dawn is currently in full progress at a farming area near Neapolis, southern Greece.

    Due to strong winds blowing in the area the blaze took huge dimensions and is currently threatening inhabited areas. The villages of Faraklo, Lahi and Aghios Nikolaos have been evacuated while according to information three houses in Faraklo and an unknown number of houses at the entrance of Lahi village have been burned. There is also information that there are trapped people in the village of Aghios Nikolaos.

    A 58-year-old foreign national who was transferred to Neapolis Health Center died from respiration problems due to the wildfire raging in the area. The health center of Neapolis is being evacuated and the patients are sent to Molai hospital.

    Earlier, a firefighting aircraft made a forced landing while operating in the area of Neapolis.

    Both pilots are well, said Fire Brigade sources to ANA-MPA.

    The wildfire broke out early Friday at the area of Neapolis, southern Greece and is currently in full progress.

    Alternate Infrastructure, Transport and Networks Minister Christos Spirtzis and health ministry general secretary Yiannis Baskozos are to go to Neapoli, Lakonia in order to be briefed on the situation there after a major fire broke out on Friday, at the orders of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

    A large number of firefighters with 35 fire engines assisted by water-dropping helicopters. The firefighting aircrafts can't operate due to the strong winds.

    The blaze is currently very close to the city of Neapolis.

    Another wildfire that broke out on Friday afternoon at the Athens suburb of Kareas is in progress. Due to the strong winds blowing in the area the blaze is now very close to the inhabited areas.

    Thirty firefighters with ten fire engines assisted by a water-dropping helicopter are currently battling the blaze.
