[01] Austrian Chancellor Faymann tours Athens hospital and social clinicsANA/MPA---Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann on Wednesday underlined the importance of his visit to the social medical office of Athens in an exclusive statement to ANA-MPA adding that the politicians should have close relations with such intitiatives."For me it is impressive to see these people working voluntarily here and it is impressive to see that the people do not accept the poverty and they struggle against it...it is important to have very close relations with other politicians but it is also important to support this kind of intitiatives," he underlined and noted "These initiatives are really special and impressive. I fully respect the work of these people". Afterwards, the Austrian Chancellor who is paying an official visit to Athens, visited Evangelismos hospital and earlier the children villages SOS. Later, Faymann will meet with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and with President of Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos. [02] Alternate Tourism Minister: Greek tourism on good courseA��/MPA---Tourism unites the Greeks, Alternate Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura said on Wednesday in her address to the Hospitality Forum and Awards conference.The Greek tourism is on good course, she said quoting Bank of Greece's figures according to which tourist arrivals rose 45 pct in first quarter and underlined that the ministry's aim is the extension of the tourism season. Referring to the sector's professionals, she said that the ministry is trying to unlock European funds that will be allocated to the development of private investments. At the same time, the ministry is moving on the promotion of alternative tourism as well as to the opening of new markets that will invigorate tourist inflow to Greece. On his part, TUI Hellas managing director Mihalis Mavropoulos said that TUI will bring 2.2 million tourists to Greece in 2015 adding that "these numbers could have skyrocketed. Greece's target should be 35 million tourists in order to compete Turkey on equal terms." [03] BoG: Failure to reach an agreement would lead the country out of the eurozoneANA/MPA---"Failure to reach an agreement would mark the beginning of a painful course that would lead initially to a Greek default and ultimately to the country's exit from the euro area and – most likely – from the European Union," according to Bank of Greece's report on Monetary Policy 2014-2015."A manageable debt crisis, as the one that we are currently addressing with the help of our partners, would snowball into an uncontrollable crisis, with great risks for the banking system and financial stability. An exit from the euro would only compound the already adverse environment, as the ensuing acute exchange rate crisis would send inflation soaring," it added. [04] Pharmacies closed on WednesdayANA/MPA---Greece's pharmacies will be closed on Wednesday in protest at the government's plans to allow over-the-counter (OTC) medicines to be sold in other stores.Pharmacists consider that the measure will hurt consumers as prices will increase, adding that the 9,800 pharmacies constitute a sufficient supply network.
