[02] Alt. Infrastructure Minister: Restoration of historic Plaka bridge technically feasible

ANA/MPA---The restoration of the historic bridge in Plaka is technically feasible, Alternate Infrastructure Minister Christos Spirtzis on Monday told MEGA TV.

Spirtzis, who has been in Arta, noted that a team of mechanics has already been dispatched to the area in order to conduct a preliminary inspection.

The historic Bridge of Plaka, in Tzoumerka, northwestern Greece, on Sunday collapsed as a result of the torrential rain in the area.

The bridge which was constructed in the 18th century is the largest single-arch bridge in the Balkans.
