[01] Greek bond yields down, stocks rally on Friday
ANA-MPA -- The Greek state bond market showed signs of improvement
on Friday, after they were hit by a wave of selling in the previous
three sessions, with the 10-year benchmark bond yield easing to 8.2
pct in midday trading in the domestic electronic secondary bond market,
around 1.0 pct lower from Thursday, with the three-year bond yield at
6.7 pct and the five-year bond yield at 7.0 pct.
Finance ministry secretary-general T. Anastasakos, commenting on recent
developments in Greek markets, said market concern over the course of the
Greek economy the day after the end of the current form of the adjustment
program was unjustified.
Meanwhile, stocks on the Athens exchange rallied strongly after plummeting
in the last few days, recovering some earlier losses. The Athens stock
exchange general index had gained 7.29 pct by 15:35 on Friday, to stand
at 932.74 points.
