  • [01] Events marking the first-year anniversary since Pavlos Fyssas murder

    Antifascist groups and other organizations on Thursday will hold events in Athens and other Greek cities to mark the first-year anniversary since the musician Pavlos Fyssas was stabbed to death by a member of the ultra-right Golden Dawn party.

    A monument in honour of Fyssas at the site of the murder in the western Attica district of Keratsini will be unveiled at 15.00 while an antifascist protest and march around Keratsini has been called for later in the afternoon.

    An antifascist concert has been scheduled for Friday at 17.00 at Syntagma square, with the participation of more than 30 artists.

    [02] Construction projects agreements to be signed with EIB

    European Investment Bank (EIB) president Werner Hoyer on Thursday noon will sign 815 million euro agreements for the construction of motorways, the completion of the metro and projects related to energy.

    EIB president, Finance Minister Gikas Hardouvelis, Transport Minister Michalis Chryssochoidis and Environment Minister Yiannis Maniatis will speak at the event "Promoting growth and employment" held on the occasion of the signing of the agreements.

    Hoyer will be received by Prime Minister Antonis Samaras on Thursday afternoon at Maximos Mansion.
