  • [01] SYRIZA leader to meet with ECB chief on Tuesday

    ANA/MPA---European Central Bank chief Mario Draghi will receive main opposition SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras on Tuesday in Frankfurt.

    The meeting will be held following Tsipras' request who is expected to the raise the issue of the Greek debt and of the Bank of Greece.

    SYRIZA party has not issued an announcement on the meeting's agenda or on whether other persons will be present at the meeting.

    As it is already known, Tsipras has called the government to not appoint the new governor of the Bank of Greece without the main opposition's consent.

    [02] Venizelos hospitalised; to be discharged until noon

    Government Vice President and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos was rushed into hospital at 1.30 am on Tuesday suffering from severe abdominal pain.

    Venizelos remained in hospital for precautionary reasons.

    Doctor Christodoulos Stefanadis told private TV MEGA that Venizelos' conditions caused no reason for concern and that he would probably be discharged from Ippokrateio Hospital until noon in order to be present at the new government's swearing-in ceremony.

    [03] IMF to release its report on Greece on Tuesday

    ANA/MPA---The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said it would publish its report on the 5th review of Greece's programme on Tuesday at 16.00 Greek time.

    The IMF mission head Poul Thomsen will hold a press conference via a teleconference ahead of the report's release.

    The IMF's board recently approved the disbursement of 3.41 billion euro of economic aid to Greece.
