[01] President Papoulias wished Greeks to strengthen the democratic forces
The importance of the role of the Europarliament as well as of the
local administration underlined in his statement on Sunday President
Karolos Papoulias.
Papoulias who voted in the northwestern Greek city of Ioannina also
noted "It is a very nice day. The elections for the local administration
end today. As I said last Sunday I hope those who want to offer to the
country to be elected because local administration is a land of offer,
creativity and imagination".
Regarding the eurolections, Papoulias wished that the "Greek voters
will strengthen the democratic forces of the Europarliament in order for
them to pay the substantial role of guaranteeing the peace and the human
rights along with the reduction of Brussels' bureaucracy and of the social
inequalities and to be a Europarliament for all European peoples' benefit.
