[01] Greece registers primary surplus of 2.592 bln euros in Jan-Oct
ANA-MPA - Greece's central government had a primary budget surplus of
2.592 billion euros in the ten-month period from January to October
2013, compared with a primary deficit of 1.139 billion euros for the
same period in 2012 and a primary deficit target of 3.036 billion euros,
Deputy Finance Minister Christos Staikouras said on Wednesday.
The general government deficit for the same period came to 2.957 billion
euros, compared to a deficit of 12.258 billion euros last year and a
target of 8.726 billion euros.
"The state budget continues to run satisfactorily. It seems that the
country is on track to meet its targets," Staikouras noted.
