[01] ‘Free traffic' in Athens centre as of Friday
ANA-MPA -- Friday, July 12, was the last day for the 2012-2013 period
of application of the Athens centre traffic restriction measure, known
as the "Athens Ring," namely, a zone in downtown Athens where private
cars can enter on a rotating basis depending on the last digit on their
license plates (even / odd system).
Police announced that all vehicles (up to 2.2 tonnes) can move freely
in and out of the Athens Ring in the summer period until the Transport
Ministry issues the new set of traffic restriction measures to apply
in 2013-2014.
