[01] Delta Air Lines relaunches Athens-NYC flights for the summer
ANA-MPA -- Delta Air Lines will reintroduce daily direct flights between
Athens' "Eleftherios Venizelos" International Airport and New York's
JFK International Airport beginning on Sunday, June 2.
The daily direct flights, with a 298-seat Airbus A330-300 passenger plane,
will continue for the duration of the summer season and will be conducted
in collaboration with Delta partnersAir France-KLM.
Delta senior vice-president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa Perry
Cantarutti said that the specific route is very popular among tourists
and business people and said that bookings were very encouraging.
In 2012, Delta carried more than 125,000 passengers travelling between
Greece and the United States, with 85 pct capacity on the average.
