[02] Cypriot banks' branches in Greece closed on TuesdayAMNA--Cypriot banks' branches in Greece will remain closed on Tuesday despite the efforts on Monday to complete their transfer to the Piraeus banking Group.According to Piraeus Bank announcement on Tuesday the signing of the agreement for its acquisition of the Cypriot banks' branches in Greece is expected to be concluded at noon on Tuesday, in order for the final technical details to be settled. Until then the opening of the three Cypriot banks' branches in Greece is exclusively at the discretion of the headquarters of the three Cypriot banks, said the Piraeus Bank announcement.amna After the completion of the agreement, Piraeus Bank will acquire an additional total loan portfolio of nearly 21 billion euros, 13 billion euros in bank accounts and a network of 330 branches, while 5,500 employees will be added to its human resources. Piraeus Bank assets will exceed 100 billion euros, loan extension will reach 70 billion euros and deposits will reach 52 billion euros, while over 24,500 employees will be working for Piraeus Bank group.amna Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras has assured that the deposits in Cypriot banks branches in Greece are not in danger. [03] Crete to see more Russian visitors this yearAMNA--The successful promotion in Russia of the island of Crete as a holiday destination may result in a 30 pct surge in Russian tourists this summer, said hotelier and travel agency officials on Monday.Returning from the Moscow tourism fair MITT 2013, vice-prefect of Crete and head of the delegation Evripidis Koukiadakis said that "Crete was promoted in a unified way in the Russian market and internationally. The increase of Russian tourists visiting Crete is expected to exceed 30 pct this year." Similar evaluations were also made by the presidents of travel agents and hoteliers on the island, respectively.
