[01] Independent Greeks leader campaigns in HalkidikiAMNA-- Independent Greeks leader Panos Kammenos lashed out at New Democracy (ND) leader Antonis Samaras and PASOK leader Evangelos Venizelos during a campaign rally in Polygyros, Halkidiki on Sunday night.Kammenos charged that the ND of Samaras was not the "ND of Constantine Karamanlis that put Greece as an equal member in the Europe of the nations". "Now, Samaras and Venizelos have put us in the Europe of the loan-shark bankers, of Merkel and Schauble," he said. Kammenos also charged that an operation was underway to terrorise the voters ahead of the June 17 repeat general elections. "All this terrorisation, that they will oust us from the euro and lead us back to the drachma, to poverty, is not working, for one reason: Because the poverty has already arrived. Because no one can send us out of the euro. Because if Greece leaves the euro, the euro itself and the European Union will collapse. "What is lacking is the necessary policy framework that will create conditions allowing the containment of a larger proportion of the shipping foreign exchange in Greece," the caretaker premier said.amna On developments in the cruise sector, Pikrammenos said that in the port of Piraeus alone, revenues today exceed 360 million euros, and added: "We want, and can, if we act smartly and methodically, double these revenues to 700 million euros per year, double the number of cruise passengers transiting via Piraeus from 2.5 million today to 5 million passengers by 2016." [06] Athens Stock Exchange opening: RiseEquity prices were rising at the opening of trade on Tuesday on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index up 0.47 percent, standing at 504.24 points at 11:00 am, and turnover at 14.335 million euros.The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up 1.23 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was up 0.18 percent. Individual sector indices were moving upward, with the biggest gains in Travel and Recreation, up 7.77 percent; Telecoms, up 2.52 percent and Health, up 2.31 percent. The heaviest losses were in Raw Materials, down 1.02 percent and Personal and Household Goods, down 0.97 percent. Of the stocks traded, 25 were up, 10 were down, and 12 were unchanged.
