    (ANA-MPA) - The first major bank merger in Greece in several years now appears on the horizon, as well-placed sources on Saturday said Alpha Bank and Eurobank, both heavily trades shares on the Athens Stock Exchange, will merge.

    Qatar-based funds are also reported to be involved in the deal. (ANA-MPA)

    The boards of both Athens-based banks will convene on Monday.
