[01] Greek ships continue evacuation of third-country citizens from LibyaGreek ships on Wednesday continued the evacuation of third-country citizens from violence-torn Libya.The Greek ferry "Eleftherios Venizelos" sailed into port in Irakleio, Crete, on Wednesday morning, carrying 2,146 Chinese citizens and one Greek from Libya. Another Greek ship, the "Ionian Queen", is due to arrive in Irakleio on Wednesday afternoon from Libya, carrying 665 Filipino citizens. More details on the subscriber's page of ANA-MPA | Subscription request form [03] ASE opening: DeclineEquity prices were declining at the opening of trade on Wednesday on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index down 1.05 percent, standing at 1,563.22 points at 11:30 am, and turnover at 34.068 million euros.Earlier, the equity prices had fallen up to 2.17 percent, following a Standard & Poor's announcement of a possible downgrading of the Greek economy's credit rating, with the general index falling to 1,545.57 points, but much of the lost ground was recouped more than an hour into trading. Individual sector indices were moving downward nearly across the board, with the only gains in Insurance, up 1.61 percent; Public Utilities, up 0.28 percent; and Financial Services, up 0.23 percent. The biggest losses were in Personal Products, down 3.10 percent; and Mass Media, down 2.09 percent. The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was down 1.00 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was down 1.00 percent, and the FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was down 1.27 percent. Of the stocks traded, 12 were up, 67 were down, and 9 were unchanged.
