The unemployment rate was 12.4% compared with 11.8% in the previous quarter, and 9.3% in the corresponding quarter of 2009. The number of employed persons decreased by 0.5% compared with the previous quarter, and by 3.0% compared with the 3rd quarter of 2009. The number of unemployed persons increased by 4.7% compared with the previous quarter and by 33.7% compared with the 3rd quarter of 2009.ana-mpa The unemployment rate for females (16.1%) is considerably higher than the unemployment rate for males (9.7%). By age group, the highest unemployment rate is recorded among young people in the age group of 15-29 years (24.2%). For young females, the unemployment rate is 30.6%.
