Speaking during a joint press conference, Barroso stressed that a year ago the EU Commission decided to abolish the visa requirement for fYRoM citizens travelling to the EU, not only in recognition of efforts made by the country, but also to urge Skopje to proceed with a solution to the "name issue". "We must proceed with this issue. The suitable moment has arrived. The country must not lose this historic opportunity. The past must not hold the future hostage," Barroso said.
