[01] Greek-Turkish protocol against illegal trading of artifacts

The protocol was signed by visiting Greek Culture Minister Pavlos Geroulanos and his Turkish counterpart Ertugrul Gunay during a brief ceremony at the Ciragan Palace.

"This is the first agreement signed after the 20 agreements signed in Athens, and it retains particular significance and symbolism because it is the first to deal with culture and the two countries' relations and possible cooperation to promote culture and its protection," Geroulanos said.

Gunay expressed a hope that all of the illegally trafficked artifacts and works of art will be returned.

Earlier, the Greek minister was received at the Ecumenical Patriarchate by Patriarch Bartholomew. (ANA-MPA)

[02] Stocks end sharply lower

The Big Cap index dropped 3.09 pct, the Mid Cap index ended 2.62 pct down and the Small Cap index fell 0.99 pct. The Media (1.74 pct) was the only sector to score gains, while Telecoms (3.99 pct) and Industrial Products (3.98 pct) suffered the heaviest percentage losses of the day.

Broadly, decliners led advancers by 116 to 54 with another 46 issues unchanged. ANEK (25 pct), Hellenic Fish Farming (11.11 pct0 and Elbsico (9.52 pct) were top gainers, while Elfico (16.67 pct), SIDMA (16.16 pct) and Akritas (10 pct) were top losers.
