[01] Seamen's union declares strike for Wed.
(ANA-MPA) -- The seamen's union (PNO) on Monday declared a strike for
Wednesday, May 5, applicable to all Greek-flagged vessels, including
ferry boats. The vote by the union's board was 8-7 in favor of the
industrial action.
The union, properly known as the Panhellenic Seamen's Federation, said
it was joining a nationwide strike declared by Greece's largest
umbrella trade group, GSEE.
The union said the strike will begin at midnight, Tuesday, and continue
until midnight on Wednesday.
