    President of the Republic Karolos Papoulias will receive parliament president Dimitris Sioufas at 1:15 p.m. on Monday, to be formally briefed on the outcome of Sunday's general elections in Greece, in which main opposition PASOK won a landslide victory.

    A half hour later, the President will receive outgoing prime minister Costas Karamanlis, who resigned from the helm of his up to now ruling New Democracy (ND) party after conceding defeat in the elections.

    The President will receive prime minister-elect and PASOK leader George Papandreou at 2:30 p.m.

    [02] Military helicopter engine stolen from guarded premise

    ANA-MPA/The engine of a military Super Puma all-weather helicopter was on Monday reported as stolen from the former Elliniko national airport.

    The theft, from the Air Force's guarded repair and storage unit in the former airport's premises, is believed to have taken place between Friday and Monday morning, when the theft was realised.

    The Air Force is investigating the theft, in collaboration with police, while a sworn administrative inquiry (EDE) has been ordered into the case.
