  • [01] Greek roadshow in London successfully completed

    LONDON (���-MPA) -- The fourth roadshow of Greek-listed enterprises, organised by the Athens Stock Exchange in London, was successfully completed on Friday.

    During the two-day event, 28 Greek enterprises conducted more than 750 meetings with a total of 190 fund managers - with funds under management exceeding 2.0 trillion euros.

    This year�s roadshow included enterprises listed in the Athens Stock Exchange, and in particular the FTSE 20 and FTSE Liquid Mid indexes.

    The roadshow brought together institutional investors from 11 countries (UK, US, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark and Norway).

    The Athens Stock Exchange organised an official dinner on Thursday for participants, with speakers including Christopher Potts, head of economics & strategy for CA Chevreux and Jonathan Stubbs, head of European strategy and managing director of Citi.

    ASE chairman Spyros Kapralos, in an interview with Bloomberg TV, presented the outlook of the Greek market, budding cooperation with the Istanbul Stock Exchange and the performance of the Greek market during the last few months.

    The 28 Greek companies participating in the roadshow were: National Bank, EFG Eurobank, Alpha Bank, Piraeus Bank, Cyprus Bank, Marfin Popular Bank, Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling, OPAP, OTE, PPC, Viohalco, GEK-Terna, Hellenic Petroleum, Hellaktor, Motor Oil, Intralot, Titan, Mytilineos, Alapis, Eurobank Properties, Follie Follie, Fourlis, Frigoglass, Lamda Development, Mihaniki, Sarantis, Sidenor and Terna Energy.

    [02] Forthnet makes non-binding offer for Wind Hellas

    (ANA-MPA) -- Forthnet SA on Friday confirmed that it has submitted a non-binding offer for the purchase of Wind Hellas Telecommunications SA.

    In a statement to the Athens Stock Exchange, Forthnet noted that it would submit a binding offer if its non-binding offer was accepted. The company said it would seek to complete this transaction only if it judged that the transaction was beneficiary both the the company and its shareholders.

    Forthnet said it would timely inform the investment community over any developments in its offer.

    [03] LA.OS on teacher's abduction

    Popular Orthodox Rally (LA.OS) President George Karatzaferis met Friday at his party's offices in Athens with Pakistani ambassador Iftikhar Hussain Kazmi to discuss the abduction case of Greek educator Athanasios Lerounis.

    Karatzaferis stated afterwards that there is no information on his whereabouts or the identity of his abductors, adding that the Pakistani diplomat presented him with sufficient explanations.

    Greek teacher Athanasios Lerounis was abducted last month by a group of unidentified individuals from the museum in Pakistan he had created himself to save the culture of the Kalash people (Calash).

    Lerounis has been living in Pakistan with his wife since 1995 and is a volunteer teacher. He has founded two primary schools, three motherhood centers and the Kalash Cultural Center in Bumboret Valley.
