[01] Migrant reception centre jammedA total of 495 illegal immigrants are currently crammed in the Illegal Migrants Reception Centre on Samos island following the arrest of 24 more by coast guards on Tuesday.The 24 migrants used a dingy boat which they destroyed when they reached the Greek coast. Port police transferred them to Samos General Hospital for check ups and then to the Reception Centre. The facilities of the Reception Centre are designed to accomodate up to 280 persons, and the Centre is frequently declared in state of emergency, which means that the staff must provide its services beyond the designated shifts whenever necessary.
