[01] Social Security reform progressing
Prime minister Costas Karamanlis is scheduled to meet with interior
minister Prokopis Pavlopoulos on Monday morning at the Maximos Mansion
(government headquarters).
Meanwhile, the first stage of unification of the country's social
security funds into a handful of larger funds has been completed, with
the merger of 24 funds into five larger ones.
The reform is slated for completion in October, with completion of the
merger of Greece's 133 social security funds and branches into 13
funds.
