[01] Greek retail sales index up 4.2% in Oct., yr/yr
Greece's retail sales turnover index (in current prices) rose by 4.2
pct in October, compared with the same month last year, the National
Statistical Service announced on Friday.
The service, in a report, said the retail sales index was up 9.3 pct in
the period October 2006-October 2005 and noted that the 4.2 pct
increase of the index in October 2007 reflected a 3.0 pct increase in
food stores and a 5.1 pct rise in other stores.
The retail sales volume index (in fixed prices) rose 1.3 pct in October
2007, from the same month last year.
