[01] Draft bill for mass media tabled in Parliament
A draft bill on regulating mass media concentration and licensing laws
was tabled in Parliament on Friday by Minister of State Theodoros
Roussopoulos, who is responsible for press and media issues.
Among others, the new bill deals with the ownership status, financial
state and means of funding for mass media enterprises, which are
subject to inspection when their licence is given.
It also outlines indicators for determining the dominant position in
the market of natural or legal entities that are active in one or more
media enterprises, imposing fines on offenders.
